This project embodies the concept of symbiotic urban planning. It outlines the future development of five key areas along the Oujiang River: the Ancient City, Baiyan, Sidu, Bihu Town, and Guyan. The proposal advocates for waterfront revitalization, urban restoration, and the protection of villages and arable land. By remediating contaminated land and restoring non-urbanized areas damaged by urban sprawl, the project aims to reinstate the conditions of symbiosis between nature, the countryside, and modern society, ultimately reshaping a city closely interwoven with its natural and rural landscapes.

Recognizing that Shanshui (mountain and water) represents a sincere and harmonious relationship with nature, articulating it with modernity leads extraordinary creativity to ensure continuous and sustainable development over the coming decades.

In our proposal, land use or space layout are guided by the regime of necessity and will not fluctuate with capricious fashion effects or trendy concepts, nor surrender to economic diktats and profits.

Our recommendation is to re-provide and reshape environments where urbanity can be truly experienced—a livable environment conducive to a lifestyle that aligns with creativity and personal development.

Our proposal shows that it is a positive utopia, a true solution for change, the re-birth between town and country because our proposal initiates a social and ecological transition that would renew a desirable   sustainability.

We implement a more diverse co-existence between urbanized areas and local farming capacities by increasing the gradient of urbanity through many changes such as relocation of healthy local agriculture and energy production, creation of walkable compact town cores, possibilities of available services and professional activities everywhere, etc…
